AURA LIFT formula — Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 Copper Tripeptide-1 centella main actives explained

AURA LIFT was built around a specific observation: visible skin ageing in Singapore is not one biological process. It is five simultaneous processes running in parallel, and most anti-ageing serums address one or two of them while the other three continue uninterrupted. The formula uses four distinct peptide systems because skin ageing requires four distinct interventions — not because complexity is the goal, but because the problem is genuinely that complex.

Here is what each active does, why the combination produces more than the sum of its parts, and how the base formula can be adapted for different starting points.

The five processes AURA LIFT addresses

  1. Declining collagen production — fibroblasts produce roughly 1% less collagen per year from age 25, thinning the dermal scaffold that gives skin firmness and snap-back
  2. UV-driven collagen degradation — Singapore’s year-round UV index of 11+ activates matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) that break down existing collagen at an accelerated rate
  3. Expression line deepening — repeated facial muscle contractions crease the skin; as collagen declines the crease stops recovering and becomes a permanent line
  4. Inflammaging — chronic low-level inflammation from UV, AC cycling, and urban pollution suppresses fibroblast function and accelerates structural collagen loss
  5. Barrier dehydration — AC-driven transepidermal water loss keeps the surface dehydrated, making fine lines and texture more visible than the underlying structural condition warrants

The main actives

Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 and Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 — collagen signalling and MMP modulation

These two signal peptides are the collagen-building core of the AURA LIFT formula. They work by mimicking the matrikine fragments — the breakdown products that collagen fibres naturally produce when they degrade — which signal nearby fibroblasts to upregulate collagen synthesis as a repair response.

In young skin, this signal fires naturally whenever collagen degrades. In ageing skin, the fibroblast’s sensitivity to these signals declines along with collagen production. Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 and Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 deliver the signal directly, bypassing the sensitivity decline and restoring the collagen synthesis instruction to fibroblasts that have become less responsive to the skin’s own signalling.

Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 additionally modulates MMP activity — reducing the enzymatic collagen degradation that UV-activated metalloproteinases drive. It works on both sides of the collagen balance: stimulating new synthesis and slowing enzymatic breakdown. In Singapore’s year-round high-UV environment where MMP-driven degradation is continuous, this dual action addresses the accelerated loss that unprotected UV produces above and beyond intrinsic ageing.

The palmitoyl prefix on both peptides is the delivery mechanism, not decoration. Palmitoylation attaches a fatty acid chain to the peptide molecule, making it more lipid-soluble and dramatically improving its ability to penetrate the skin barrier’s lipid matrix to reach the fibroblasts in the dermis where it does its work. Peptides without palmitoylation or equivalent penetration engineering largely remain on the skin surface. The chemistry of delivery is what separates a formula that lists peptides from one that delivers them.

Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 (Argireline) — expression line reduction

Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 is the neuromuscular active in AURA LIFT — the ingredient that addresses the expression line mechanism that signal peptides cannot reach.

It works at the SNARE complex — the protein machinery that controls acetylcholine release at the neuromuscular junction. Acetylcholine release is the signal that tells a facial muscle to contract. Argireline is a synthetic peptide patterned after the N-terminal end of SNAP-25, a core SNARE complex protein. It competes with SNAP-25 for binding within the complex, partially destabilising it and reducing the amplitude of acetylcholine release. The result: facial muscle contractions are dampened rather than blocked. The skin is being creased less forcefully with every expression, and over weeks of consistent twice-daily application, the expression lines that have been deepened by years of full-amplitude contractions become visibly shallower.

This mechanism is unique in the topical active category. Retinoids, AHAs, vitamin C, and other signal peptides all work at the skin and dermal level. None of them can reduce the muscular force that physically etches expression lines deeper with every smile, squint, and frown. Only a neuromuscular-acting ingredient reaches this pathway, which is why its presence in AURA LIFT’s formula represents a mechanism that no other ingredient in the formula duplicates.

Clinical evidence: studies show Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 reduces wrinkle depth by 17 to 48% after four weeks of twice-daily application at effective concentration, depending on the depth and location of the expression lines treated.

Copper Tripeptide-1 (GHK-Cu) — repair signalling and inflammaging management

Copper Tripeptide-1 is the repair and anti-inflammatory system in AURA LIFT. GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring tripeptide-copper complex that activates the same wound healing cascade the skin uses to repair physical damage — stimulating fibroblast proliferation, upregulating collagen and elastin synthesis, activating MMP enzymes to clear damaged collagen before new synthesis replaces it, and reducing the pro-inflammatory cytokines that suppress fibroblast function.

Its anti-inflammatory mechanism addresses the inflammaging pathway directly. The chronic low-level inflammation from Singapore’s year-round UV, pollution, and AC-to-outdoor thermal cycling suppresses fibroblasts into a low-activity state that partially cancels the collagen-stimulating signals from the signal peptides. GHK-Cu reduces the cytokine environment that keeps fibroblasts suppressed, allowing Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 and Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 to signal to fibroblasts that are in a higher-function state and respond more robustly. The two systems amplify each other: GHK-Cu creates the environment in which the signal peptides produce their strongest response.

GHK-Cu also supports wound healing signalling that skin in its 30s and 40s no longer runs at its earlier efficiency — reactivating a repair cascade that slows with age, independently of the specific collagen production signals from the matrikine-mimicking peptides.

Centella Asiatica (TECA) — anti-inflammatory barrier support and collagen co-stimulation

Centella asiatica provides two complementary functions in AURA LIFT. Its triterpenoid actives — madecassoside and asiaticoside — have both anti-inflammatory and collagen-stimulating mechanisms. The anti-inflammatory action compounds the barrier protection that GHK-Cu provides, reducing the inflammatory baseline from a second, botanically-sourced mechanism. The collagen stimulation it produces through the fibroblast activation pathway is a third route to the same outcome that the signal peptides are working toward — more total collagen stimulation from the combined formula than any single ingredient would produce.

In Korean formulation science, centella asiatica has been a core ingredient for decades before it became a Western skincare trend — specifically because Korean cosmetic labs formulating for humid, UV-heavy Asian skin understood its relevance to the barrier and inflammation stressors that this climate produces. AURA LIFT’s centella is sourced and extracted for triterpenoid bioactivity rather than present as a trace label ingredient.

Ceramide and supporting barrier ingredients

As with AURA Bright, the barrier support in AURA LIFT is not a secondary consideration. Dehydrated skin surfaces scatter light rather than reflecting it, making fine lines and texture more visible than the underlying structural improvement warrants. A formula that builds collagen in the dermis while leaving the surface dehydrated produces structural improvement that does not show at the surface because the visual quality of the skin is determined by the hydration and integrity of the outermost layers, not only by the collagen beneath.

Ceramide in AURA LIFT maintains the barrier lipid structure that Singapore’s AC cycling and UV oxidation continuously depletes, allowing the surface to remain plump and light-reflective throughout the day. The collagen improvements from weeks six to twelve of consistent use are visible at the surface partly because the barrier is intact enough to display them.

The base formula and customisation

AURA LIFT’s base formulation is designed for the most common Singapore anti-ageing profile: combination to normal skin in the early 30s to mid 40s, managing the expression lines and early firmness changes driven by collagen decline and Singapore’s UV-accelerated structural degradation. The formula is photostable — usable morning and evening without photosensitisation risk — lightweight in texture, and stability-tested for tropical ambient temperatures.

Sensitive or barrier-compromised skin

AURA LIFT can be started at full twice-daily frequency from day one without the tolerance-building period that retinoids require. There is no disruption mechanism. For skin that has been over-active with acids or retinoids and is in a reactive state, AURA LIFT is appropriate to introduce during the recovery period alongside a ceramide-rich moisturiser, as both the barrier support and the peptide signalling work without adding to the barrier stress of the recovery protocol.

Oily and acne-prone skin

The lightweight, non-comedogenic texture does not add to congestion. Copper Tripeptide-1’s anti-inflammatory mechanism is relevant to the inflammatory acne cycle and may reduce the baseline inflammation that generates post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation from breakouts. For skin managing concurrent brightening and anti-ageing concerns, AURA LIFT in the morning and AURA Bright morning and evening is the most complete dual-concern approach.

Skin already using retinoids

Apply AURA LIFT in the morning and retinoids at night. The peptide formula’s barrier-supportive ceramide and centella asiatica in the morning partly mitigates the barrier disruption that retinoids produce overnight, making the combination more sustainable than retinoids used without daytime barrier support. Do not combine both in the same application session.

Mid 40s and beyond with established sagging or volume loss

AURA LIFT works at the dermal level — collagen and elastin support in the dermis, barrier and inflammatory management above. Significant fat pad redistribution and bone resorption that drives deeper structural sagging is beyond what any topical can reverse. The honest positioning: AURA LIFT is most effective as a prevention and maintenance tool that slows the rate of structural change and improves the surface quality of skin. For skin already showing significant sagging, the formula works best in combination with clinical interventions (HIFU, radiofrequency) rather than as a standalone correction tool.

Start with your skin profile

AURA LIFT’s base formula covers the most common anti-ageing concerns for Singapore skin. If your starting point is more specific — severe or early-onset wrinkling, concurrent brightening needs, post-procedure skin, or skin with a history of product sensitivity — completing your skin profile lets us confirm the formula is the right match and suggest any supporting routine adjustments before you commit.
